Comrags has released a range of portable blankets
Toronto-based brand Comrags introduced the concept of “social security” with a capsule of one-of-a-kind luxury blankets. Designed to be layered over sweaters or coats, the oversized patchwork pieces – which feature an adjustable drawstring neckline, exaggerated armholes and a front pocket to keep hands warm – are crafted with comfortable materials left over from previous collections for add an extra layer of warmth which is perfect for extending outdoor gatherings this season. As with all Comrags parts, covers are in limited supply with only eight available for the initial release; new orders are also taken.
Smythe offers a new selection of wardrobe essentials
From the chunky-knit turtleneck to the costume clips they’re famous for, Canadian designer duo Smythe focus on wardrobe staples with the Smythe House line. “Like many of us, we’ve spent a great part of the year re-evaluating what matters in life, asking what elements bring joy and cleaning up those that don’t,” the co-workers said. -Founders Andrea Lenczner and Christie Smythe in a press release about the pieces, which range from tailored basics to a cheeky graphic sweater that says “Meh.” “When it comes to wardrobes, this idea translates into versatile pieces that retain a strong element of luxury and design, even though they fit perfectly into everyday life.” 18 items are available now, with a small holiday drop in mid-November.
Kotn makes knitwear now
Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi – the art of appreciating beauty in the natural and imperfect world – the Canadian brand Kotn wants to enhance your winter wardrobe with an offer of styles of sweaters and cardigans for men, women and unisex made from 100% ethically grown cotton in Turkey. “At Kotn, we believe that every item in your wardrobe, especially the ones you wear day in and day out, also deserves the utmost care and consideration,” said Mackenzie Yeates, Co-Founder and Brand Head in a statement on the launch. “With our new collection of knits, we perpetuate our design pillars of quality, elegance and ethics through magnificent 100% cotton BCI certified sweaters; providing breathability, comfort and warmth for the cold winter months. It’s not enough to just care about the end product, but also how it arrived.
