Billie Eilish Posts Nike Sneakers Version of ‘The Dress’

Billie Eilish split the internet this weekend when she posted her own version of The Dress on her Instagram Story. Eilish had done a question-and-answer session with fans when asked about the original image of the dress. She said she saw gold and blue and posted an IG Story of the image as proof. Then she shared her own optical illusion, remembering that her father mistakenly saw his Uptempo Nike shoes as pink and white. He wasn’t the only one, however, who saw those colors, thought, and Eilish didn’t.

The shoes are actually mint and white, although in a warmer interior light the white in the “Air” photographs is light pink. Eilish posted several images of the shoes against other pink and white sneakers, then took them outside, where the mint and green are more clearly visible.

At one point, Eilish asked her mother to look at them, and her mother told her that she had seen pink and green.

“Yeah, so I came to the conclusion that you still don’t know your sneakers at all because the people who agree with me, because they know what the shoe looks like, are all people who are sneakerheads who know what the fucking mint green Uptempo shoes look like, ”she told her Instagram followers, exasperated.“ I don’t care what you think they look like; I care what they are! “

“Calm down,” Eilish’s mother said off camera.

“No man, I’m always in a rush about this. Because the whole internet is enlightening me!”

“There are bigger problems in the world…” her mother replied.

Eilish laughs, “You got me there.”

Eilish then took the shoes outside, posted videos of them against other pink and white shoes, then went back inside and told the internet to leave that to her.

“So we all know I’m right here even if you see something else. You know I’m right below it all, don’t you? she says. “And real quick: before you keep arguing or whatever, the whole internet has been calling me fat for a week, so leave that to me.” (Eilish is referring to the trolls’ response to paparazzi photos taken of her wearing a tank top and shorts. In response to that, she reposted a TikTok saying people need to normalize real bodies.)
