Back in February, when Fendi unveiled its collaboration with British accessory brand Chaos – a collection that includes AirPods and luxury smartphone cases – we had no idea how valuable our relationship would become with our gadgets. Or that after seven months of remote working and learning, we would be more likely to treat our devices (aka our closest friends during a pandemic) with a sophisticated new look than ourselves. Hey, if we don’t dress that much, why not dress our gear? Enter Fendi x Chaos.
The golden collection is the result of Chaos designers Charlotte Stockdale and Katie Lyall’s long-standing friendship with Karl Lagerfeld, who had been at the helm of the brand since 1967, and continues to this day with the house’s artistic director. Silvia Venturini Fendi. Inspired by old Hollywood glamor, the duo used a chic palette of black and gold to create stylish cases for everything from headphones to iPhones.
The models, reminiscent of antique cigarette cases, can be clipped into this season’s Fendi belts and lanyards or into any Fendi handbag, as shown in the exclusive video above. The interconnected function of the products is Fendi’s solution to our travel woes, a smart way to travel with multiple small items for “seamless travel from your home office to the airport lounge”. In other words, if we ever go somewhere again.
The Fendi x Chaos collection is pre-launched on fendi.com on October 17, followed by a global launch in Fendi stores on October 20.
