Harry Styles Will Not Be Playing 007 in the James Bond Franchise

Some might argue that Harry Styles is emerging as an icon in its own right. But it will not fill the shoes of the spy and international British icon James Bond. By Daily mail, the singer will not replace Daniel Craig in the role, despite rumors to the contrary.

A representative for Styles told the Mail that rumors that the singer will be the next Bond “aren’t even remotely true.” the Mail reports that a source previously said “Harry is extremely serious. He has had a series of high profile meetings to become 007. Harry thinks he is the last two.” The source continued, “Harry is a new age British man … he is confident in his own skin and to do it Bond would mean the franchise changes over time.”

Styles is well aware that people would love to see him take on the role of 007, even though he never seemed to take the idea seriously.

“I mean, who wouldn’t?” Styles said, in an interview with UK radio Hits, when asked about his interest in playing Bond. “I grew up watching them. You know, I loved it when I was a kid. So I think that’s kind of everyone’s dream, right?”

the Mail points out that the name of Styles is not the only one to have been mentioned in relation to the Bonding franchise. James Norton, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, and David Beckham all came at some point.

Let’s all take the time we need to feel sad that the next Bond isn’t Harry Styles. Just another disappointment for 2020.
