The show begins at 9 a.m. ET.
On October 15, Michael Kors will present his Spring / Summer 2021 collection digitally – and we’ve got you front row seat for all the action.
The digital show’s format is the first of its kind for the American brand, and comes after Kors decided to step back from the mainstream fashion calendar (it normally shows during NYFW). In June, Kors announced that he would be presenting just two collections per year for his eponymous brand – one for spring / summer and the other for fall / winter. At the time, he also announced that deliveries of these collections would be made “gradually” during the season for “more closely [reflect] how customers in today’s world actually live and buy. “
Speaking about his decision, Kors said, “I’ve long thought that the fashion calendar has to change. It’s exciting for me to see the open dialogue within the fashion community on the calendar – from Giorgio Armani to Gucci to YSL and major retailers around the world – on ways to slow the process down and improve the way we work. We’ve all had time to reflect and analyze things, and I think many agree it’s time to take a new approach for a new era.
Tomorrow at 9 a.m. ET, this new approach will begin. The livestream (which you can watch below) will begin with a movie, titled On the roof, which will explore Kors’ inspiration for the spring 2021 collection. At the end of the film, the virtual runway will begin.
