Obakki launches Essentials collection in organic cotton that has a sweet charitable component

And for a week after the launch, the label will donate 100% of its net profits to the basic kits of the Obakki Foundation; the kits support the women of Bidi Bidi, Uganda – the world’s largest refugee camp for women – by providing them with much-needed items such as reusable sanitary napkins, laundry detergent and sundries like soap and items dental care.
“This tumultuous year has made us all rethink the things that are really essential to us,” Obakki founder Treana Peake said in a statement about the launch. “We wanted to create comfortable and versatile wardrobe basics that you can wear every day. All of our commodities are consciously created with a low carbon footprint and made from 100% organic ingredients. To celebrate the collection, the brand photographed its pieces on women living in Bidi Bidi, as well as Vancouverites like model and activist Krow Kian.
