At her wedding on October 12, 2018, Princess Eugenie purposefully showed off her scoliosis surgery scars in a low-back gown designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos. Eugenie, who is now expecting her first child, underwent eight-hour surgery for her scoliosis at the age of 12.
Eugenie praised Selena Gomez for sharing her kidney transplant scar on Instagram on Friday. “I thought it was super cool of @selenagomez to show she was sure of who she was and what she went through after struggling to show her scar,” Eugenie wrote on her Instagram story.
On September 24, Gomez posted a photo of herself in a La’Mariette swimsuit showing off her scar from her kidney transplant in 2017. She captioned the following and spoke to Theresa Marie Mingus of La’Mariette.
“When I had my kidney transplant I remember it was very hard to show my scar at first,” she wrote. I didn’t want it to be in the photos, so I was wearing things that would cover it. Now, more than ever, I trust who I am and what I’ve been through … and I’m proud of it. T – Kudos for what you do for women, by launching @lamariette whose message is just that … all bodies are beautiful. “

Eugenie spoke about her operation and how she changed her life – and can do the same for others.
“The kids can look at me now and know the operation is working,” Eugenie wrote in a statement to the website of the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital, where she was operated on. “I am living proof of how the hospital can change people’s lives.”
