Kate Middleton has had a busy week of in-person engagements so far, and they’ve given the Duchess of Cambridge the chance to show the public a glimpse of her casual and formal fall wardrobe. The Duchess opted to wear two blue looks during two engagement days. She dressed yesterday during a visit to the University of Derby, wearing a checked Massimo Dutti coat, a blue knit Massimo Dutti sweater, dark pants and heels by Gianvito Rossi.
Kate social took a distance while talking to others, but notably did not wear a mask in many of the photos taken. The UK, like much of the world, remains in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Wearing a mask is advised (and in many cases mandatory in the UK) when you are indoors or talking to people who are not in your household and who are unable to get away and to stay six feet apart.
She wore a mask, however, when visiting students; this is the only photo of her wearing a mask during this engagement:
Today, Kate and Prince William welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Olena to Buckingham Palace. Kate released another blue look for this engagement: a long-sleeved, belted Emilia Wickstead dress with nude heels. No one wore a mask during the indoor meeting, but the two couples kept their distance. It is not known whether the couples were tested for COVID prior to the meeting, but it would not be surprising if they were as an added precaution.
