Even though I’ve been a beauty writer for just over three years now (which honestly still makes me pretty green) I’m still surprised when people Actually take care of myself and ask what i applied to my face, what i coated all over my body or how i styled my hair. I’m not going to pretend to have influencer-level following (I sure don’t), and until recently I was always uncomfortable posting selfies on social media or even online for the stories I would write. I love so much about my job, but the pressure on my face all over the internet, and the vulnerability that comes with it, is something I’m still getting used to.
I’ve always been shy in front of the camera, but when it comes to reporting and yelling at my favorite rooftop beauty products, I’m definitely do not shy. And, for the record, I usually wear at least a few of said products every time I take a photo or post on Instagram. Yes, I can try out hundreds of new beauty products every month, but I can honestly say that my line of choice over the years has remained largely unchanged. You know that old saying: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”? Nothing could better embody my sturdy beauty wardrobe.
